Chinese New Year

Chinese New Year is around the corner again.. on January 29, the Chinese World will usher in the Year of The Dog. There will be family feast, lion dances, fireworks and of cause, ang pows (red packets of good luck money).

For me, this new year will be the same as last year, doing a lot of travelling. But since this year the New Year fallen on the weekend, I will be going south to my hometown first in Johor then come back up to KL on the 30th night before travel north to wife's hometown, Taiping, the next day. Yeah, every Chinese New Year I have to travel more than 1000km, it is exhausting. Also, every Chinese New Year is another drain to my bank account. Use to remember the old days where I receive the ang pows instead of giving them. Further more, I have a lot of cousins whom 95% of them I don't even know their name, and most probably a few of them I don't even know they are from which uncle/aunt.

My home town (Labis) should be known as the most explosive town in Malaysia during the Chinese New Year eve. The sound of firecrackers are like the third world war, and the smell of them are really intoxicating. Although my home town is small, most of them work in Singapore and Chinese New Year is the time for them to burn all those extra money, or let go of themselves since Singapore is "strictly" forbidden lighting of firecrackers. Fireworks

Well.. I will most probably set up my tripod with my brother again this year to shoot those fireworks, hope to get some good one.

I will probably be off from the Internet world for a week.. well maybe will online brieftly when I got back to KL on the 30th night
